Description

“Rain of Thoughts” is a refined and symbolic work of art by Roser Oter, which perfectly captures the balance between chaos and tranquility. The composition consists of a rust-colored metal background from which a tangle of metal wires appears to emerge. These threads symbolize thoughts or ideas moving chaotically and uncontrollably through the air. Subtle, delicate drops at the ends of the threads suggest the precipitation of these thoughts, as if they are slowly condensing into insights or feelings.

At the bottom of the artwork is a stylized ceramic figure, wrapped in an abstract shape reminiscent of a flower. The figure, carrying a simple ceramic parasol, appears sheltered and lost in thought, as a symbol of introspection amid the busyness of the mind. The tranquility and simplicity of the figure are in stark contrast to the complexity at the top, creating a sense of balance and serenity.

The artist’s signature is subtly present on the metal plate, a sign of authenticity and craftsmanship. This piece is not only a visually appealing addition to any interior, but also invites the viewer to reflect on the complexity of inner life.

Height: 26cm

Roser Oter is a ceramist from Catalonia who makes figural ceramics: often small seated human figures that read. They are usually placed in a larger “environment” such as a landscape or stacks of thin plates of clay like sheets of paper. But also on a bench, a high chair or a piece of rock. These attributes are often made of metal, rusted iron wire or found objects (‘objets trouvés’), such as iron bands and wooden staves from wine barrels. Much of the work is made of paper clay.
