Upon moving to the UAE, I was inspired by the multicultural clothing worn by different nationalities. In particular, the bright headscarves worn by many women and sold in the souqs. I also experienced getting henna and fell in love with the intricately detailed designs. I combined both of these elements in my design in a design that celebrates the beauty of women.

“My contribution to the Elephant Parade is a tribute to an animal which has huge ears, gigantic muscles and tail in both ends. The elephant does not make sense and I thought that my contribution does not have to either. So there are fried eggs, camouflage, roads and lots of patterns.”
Art inspired by an excerpt from the tale “Dragons doesn’t know paradise” by Caio Fernando Abreu (renowned Brazilian writer), the nice elephant “Que Seja Doce” wants to surprise viewers and make the routine of São Paulo more sweet and joyful even for an instant. So, let it be sweet. Every morning, when I open the windows to let in the sunshine or the grayness of a day, that’s just what I repeat, let it be sweet. When is sunny and the sun strikes my face creased with sleep or insomnia, as I wacht the particles of dust floating in the air like a little universe, I repeat seven times for luck: let it be sweet let it be sweet let it be sweet and so on.” (Caio F. Abreu). And let be sweet everything that has to be!

Inspired by Phae Mueang Phi Park (just outside Chiang Mai), which is my favourite place to visit during the weekend. I like going for walks there and love the rocky mushroom-like formations.
When I think of an elephant, I think of a beautiful creature with a lively personality. Elephants are considered symbols of good fortune that bring many positive characteristics, so I wanted to design something fun and colourful. I use bright colours to portray happiness and many different playful shapes to represent a strong, positive and forward-looking into the bright future of endangered Elephants.
Elephant name: Jardin Fleuri Artist: Ploypisut Parade: Travelling Herd 2018 Inspiration: Jardin fleuri, in French, means the flower garden that is full of flowers. This work was inspired by the design of the Isabella Stewart Garden Museum, but with more simpler colours and patterns. The heart shape represents peace.
This new creation has botanic inspiration that reminds us the other elephants created previously by me. Beside the vibrant palette, the banana tree was selected to reinforce the tropical aspect of this beautiful, funny and carioca elephant.
My idea was to bring back the essence of being carioca despite our crisis and lack of hope that we have nowadays in Rio. We are sunny, vibrant and stylish people and that’s why I called it “cool”. The floral influence represents the colorful happiness and its stripe socks and shoes is a contrast of carioca’s unique dressing style.
“Capturing the essence of a starry night, our Celestial Elephant statue is inspired by the artist’s vision: ‘If you look up in the star-filled night sky, you may be lucky enough to see the full moon smile down upon you.’ Elevate your decor with this decorative elephant today.”
Elephant name: Bamboo Forest Artist: Chris Chun Parade: Travelling Herd 2019 Inspiration: Bamboo is considered to be a symbol of virtue, reflecting the values of Chinese Culture. May the elephant, one day have the same revered status in the whole Asia too!
This elephant, in a travelling exhibition, is ‘Ganesha’ to me. I have transformed his light mythical means of transport into a white butterfly (and introduced a new divine transport even lighter than a rat). This Ganesha protects the entire Elephant Parade and elephants in general.
