“When painting my elephants, I thought about my holidays to Asia and the beautiful fabrics, temples and palaces I have seen. Plenty of inspiration there for painting more elephants.” – Patricia Collins

Life gave me the possibility to travel a bit. I noticed that regardless of beliefs, nationality or race, kindness should be present everywhere. Ignorance makes our differences bigger such that tolerance, understanding and peace become more difficult to have. I think we are living in a very hard moment because we are losing attention to what matters, and what matters is not related to the amount of money or social recognition. What really matters comes wrapped in paper of smiles, kindness and care.

Upon moving to the UAE, I was inspired by the multicultural clothing worn by different nationalities. In particular, the bright headscarves worn by many women and sold in the souqs. I also experienced getting henna and fell in love with the intricately detailed designs. I combined both of these elements in my design in a design that celebrates the beauty of women.

Angel is nonverbal and loves expressing himself through art. Elephants and dogs are his favourite animals, that is why his dad gave him the Elephant Parade Artbox as a present. We love the result and wanted to share it with you.

Art inspired by an excerpt from the tale “Dragons doesn’t know paradise” by Caio Fernando Abreu (renowned Brazilian writer), the nice elephant “Que Seja Doce” wants to surprise viewers and make the routine of São Paulo more sweet and joyful even for an instant. So, let it be sweet. Every morning, when I open the windows to let in the sunshine or the grayness of a day, that’s just what I repeat, let it be sweet. When is sunny and the sun strikes my face creased with sleep or insomnia, as I wacht the particles of dust floating in the air like a little universe, I repeat seven times for luck: let it be sweet let it be sweet let it be sweet and so on.” (Caio F. Abreu). And let be sweet everything that has to be!

“Capturing the essence of a starry night, our Celestial Elephant statue is inspired by the artist’s vision: ‘If you look up in the star-filled night sky, you may be lucky enough to see the full moon smile down upon you.’ Elevate your decor with this decorative elephant today.”

This elephant, in a travelling exhibition, is ‘Ganesha’ to me. I have transformed his light mythical means of transport into a white butterfly (and introduced a new divine transport even lighter than a rat). This Ganesha protects the entire Elephant Parade and elephants in general.

A fascinating Chinese art of paper cutting motifs and all the words of blessings make this elephant an auspicious one.
