A young child, casually leaning on a copyright symbol as if it were a soccer ball, questions property rights and creative freedom. The cracks in the background reinforce the sense of resistance and breaking established rules. This work, in the spirit of street art, challenges the viewer to consider who truly owns their ideas.
While Banksy himself hasn’t explained “Copyright Rebel,” it fits within his oeuvre, in which he often addresses social and political issues through powerful and provocative imagery. The work invites viewers to consider the future of young people and the factors that influence their prospects.
