Patina is the natural layer that bronze develops over time. It gives the statue depth and character and is part of the material’s charm; it is not a flaw.
Bronze is robust and ages beautifully, including in a sheltered spot outdoors. Outside it develops a patina more quickly; if you want to keep the original shine, place the statue indoors or under cover.
Dusting with a soft, dry cloth is usually enough. Avoid harsh cleaning products so the patina stays intact.
