When I think of an elephant, I think of a beautiful creature with a lively personality. Elephants are considered symbols of good fortune that bring many positive characteristics, so I wanted to design something fun and colourful. I use bright colours to portray happiness and many different playful shapes to represent a strong, positive and forward-looking into the bright future of endangered Elephants.

Life gave me the possibility to travel a bit. I noticed that regardless of beliefs, nationality or race, kindness should be present everywhere. Ignorance makes our differences bigger such that tolerance, understanding and peace become more difficult to have. I think we are living in a very hard moment because we are losing attention to what matters, and what matters is not related to the amount of money or social recognition. What really matters comes wrapped in paper of smiles, kindness and care.

When painting my elephants, I thought about my holidays to Asia and the beautiful fabrics, temples and palaces I have seen. Plenty of inspiration there for painting more elephants.
