Miffy turned 60 in 2015! One of the events organized is the Miffy Art Parade: a project that does justice to Miffy, her creator, and her small and large admirers worldwide. The Miffy art parade connects, inspires and contributes to a better future, in collaboration with UNICEF. All replicas are designed by artists and painted by hand.

Three generations have grown up with Miffy in the Netherlands, but Miffy is also very popular outside the Netherlands. Since she first crossed borders to Japan and England in the 1960s, you can now find her in dozens of countries around the world; Dick Bruna’s world-famous creation is as popular as ever, not only as the main character in the books, but also on all kinds of products and as a design icon.

In the logo for 60 years of Miffy you can see the development that Miffy has experienced. In the first years, Miffy looks like a cloth toy animal, with somewhat clumsy ears. From 1963 onwards she looks at the reader stubbornly with her black eyes, has two tight, pointed ears and nice chubby cheeks. Later her ears and face become rounder and more balanced. The relationship between her body, which has become somewhat rounder, and her head also changes.

Dick Bruna was born on August 23, 1927 in Utrecht and died on February 16, 2017. Father Bruna is a publisher at A.W. Bruna & Zoon, the publishing house that his great-grandfather founded in 1868. Although he is destined to succeed his father as publisher, his son Dick convinces him that he is unsuitable for that profession. In 1951 he was hired by the publishing house as a designer of book covers and he played an important role in the success of the Zwarte Beertjes paperback series; his bold, clean and simple designs for book covers and posters are still highly sought after by collectors.
The Miffies are made of Poly-resin (synthetic resin).

Our range is also rich in various other art objects. Think of Greyman statues, Museum statues, All that Jazz and Love statues.
