The second painting with the title ‘Hope’ was shown to the public in the Klimt Room of the second Kunstschau in 1909. The first painting, which was withdrawn from the retrospective Secession exhibition for being too provocative, was also at display there. Klimt said about this painting: ‘Everything is ugly, she is, and what she sees is. But within her grows beauty, hope. And her eyes tell you that’.
This statue is 24 cm high.
